Panda Update 3, May 10, 2011 (no change given; confirmed, not announced)

Google Says It’s Panda Update 2.1, Not Panda 3.0,

Panda 2.1: Google won’t release the percentage of queries impacted but says this is far less than in the other updates. Changes were made in the past few days.

It’s important to remember that Google is always making changes to its search algorithm. Panda was a big algorithm change, but it’s not likely that Google will make similar huge change for months.

Google Panda Update 4, Google Panda 2.2 UpdateJune 16, 2011 (no change given; confirmed, not announced)

Google has given us confirmation that they have run an update to the Panda filter recently.
We have been expecting the Google Panda 2.2 update based on news coming out of the SMX Advanced conference. Matt Cutts told SMX attendees that Panda 2.2 has been approved, hasn’t been rolled out yet, but that should happen soon.

The update hit sometime late last week. I believe Google manually pushed out the Panda 2.2 update around June 16th.

Panda Update 5, July 23, 2011 (no change given; confirmed, not announced)

Google Panda 2.3 Update Is Live July 23, 2011

The 2.1 to 2.3 dates are approximate. Google may have rolled them out just a bit earlier or later than those exact days. The bigger issue is that you can see a trend developing. About every month, Google reruns its Panda algorithm.

Each time Panda is run, there’s a chance some hit from the last update will improve, while other sites might see traffic drops. In between updates, changes people may make specifically in hopes of fixing a Panda problem won’t show any impact until the next update is run.

Google Panda Update 2.4: Panda Goes International, In Most Languages

Google has just announced that their “Panda” rankings changes, first launched in the United States in late February and rolled out to English language indices internationally in April, have now launched internationally in all languages other than Chinese, Japanese, and Korean
.
Their post notes that for non-English indices, this change impacts 6-9% of queries (vs. the 12% the original US English launch). This launch also includes a few minor changes to the English version of Panda, but shouldn’t have a substantial impact.

Confirmed: Google Panda 2.5 Update Arrived This Week

Google has confirmed that the latest iteration of its Panda algorithm update is live. Based on our tracking of the algorithm changes, this is Panda Update 2.5.

Google declined to share any specifics about what types of sites, pages or content this update targeted, instead only sharing the company’s default statement:

Google Panda 2nd Update April 11, 2011

Panda Update 2, April 11, 2011 (2% of queries; announced; rolled out in English internationally)

On February, Google launched an extensive algorithm change (known as “Farmer” or “Panda”) intended at identifying low-quality pages and sites. These are pages (often seen on so-called “content farms”) with text that is relevant for a query, but may not provide the best user experience. (Google calls it a “high quality sites algorithm”.) Today, Google has rolled this change out to all English language queries and made a few minor updates (with an estimated impact to 2% of U.S. queries).

Live for All English Queries

The original algorithm update impacted only U.S. queries. As of today, this change is live for all English queries worldwide. This includes both English speaking countries (such as searches on google.co.uk, and google.com.au) and English queries in non-English countries (for instance, for a searcher using google.fr who’s chosen English-language results).

In the United States, the initial launch impacted nearly 12% of queries, so it stands to reason that the impact may be similar for English-speaking searchers across the world.

Mainly the update is for multiple changes that should help drive spam levels even lower, including one change that primarily affects sites that copy others’ content and sites with low levels of original content. New Disavow Tool For Removal of spammy’ Links By Webmasters | Disavow Tool Vs Penguin Update

Google Once again come up with a latest Update of disavow links” tool. This huge information was announced by the Great Matt Cutts the head of Google web spam team.

Disavow links tool is beta tested and it is live to Implement It. Before Google, Bing is the first Search engine to initiate “disavow links” tool.

How this tool Is Useful for us?

Google not at all permitted any webmaster to report about their Affecting inbound links on their site. However Google has understood the aggravation of webmasters and for the solution to get out from the Effect Google launched the Disavow links. This tool helps for the webmasters to point out the links that has to be removed from their website.

How This Tool going to work?

This is the frequent Question that comes in your mind. You need to do Is Simply Just upload a .txt file containing links that Google should overlook on it and neglect it

Matt Cutts Explains About this tool And also notice some Warning about "Disavow links"

“This Tool is an advanced feature and be supposed to only used with warning and caution. If implemented to use mistakenly, this feature can make hurt your website’s performance in Google’s search results. We recommend that you disavow back links only if you believe you have a considerable number of spammy, artificial, unnatural, or low-quality links pointing to your web site, and if you are sure that the links are making issues for you. In most cases, Google can assess which links to faith without extra guidance, so most usual, ordinary or typical sites will not need to use this tool.”

Why is link spam an issue? Simon explains:

If you’ve ever been caught up in linkspam, you may have seen a message in Webmaster Tools about “unnatural links” pointing to your site. We send you this message when we see evidence of paid links, link exchanges, or other link schemes that violate our quality guidelines. If you get this message, we recommend that you remove from the web as many spammy or low-quality links to your site as possible. This is the best approach because it addresses the problem at the root. By removing the bad links directly, you’re helping to prevent Google (and other search engines) from taking action again in the future. You’re also helping to protect your site’s image, since people will no longer find spammy links pointing to your site on the web and jump to conclusions about your website or business.

Who Requires To Use Disavow Tool?

This is particularly formulated for those who were affected by the recent Penguin Algorithm Update. Since webmasters are worried with the purpose of competitors and black hated seo minded people just link a spam site to their website in tidy to hurt their rankings by doing negative SEO(Spaming By Spammers). So now webmasters will be joyful to reserve a request to Google with this new launch.

Hide yourself behind a SEO specialist and murmur “Penguin” in their ear and observe as they cough. Why is that so? fine, like a rogue Penguin updates are refusing to die.

Disavow Tool Vs Penguin Update

On October 5th 2012, Google came up with third penguin Algorithm update. Google Search queries are likely to be affected by this leading Algorithm update. The reactions for the initial two updates are annoying to the search engine analyst and the comeback for the latest penguin update is an absolute annoyance.

The first Penguin update cleaned out on link building. It looks that any links was supposed to be from using black-hat method. Google itself has likely esteemed that penguin affected approximately 3.1 percentage of English language search queries. Google did not make public how they projected this statistics, but up to date annotations intimated that the search query would have been affected if their top SERP results got changed.

In The 2’nd update had very minor effects; just 0.1 percentages of English language queries got penalized.

Google estimated the Latest 3rd Penguin update affects 0.3 percent to 0.4 percent of English search queries. It will take pretty few days for full impact but some webmasters already raising their queries
in traffic drop.

Last Two Months (August, September) alone 65 small changes has been made by Google. There have been many updates so far like Panda, penguin and EMD (exact match domains). What makes Penguin updates the unique? It mainly targets the hyperlinks and anchor text which is the fundamental thing in SEO factor.

Media have revealed that Google is not recognizing excellent content in terms of Penguin update. Of course, the excellence of one website is another website spam and it’s a tough situation to claim. A lot of SEO Professionals are sad with Google updates and they think that Google’s intention is to entirely rip off SEO.

How Do Recover A Site From Google Penguin Update | Tips For Recover A Site From Google Penguin Update

Posted By SEO Analyst Chennai

Google has recently updated A new Algorithm to dig over out horrific websites from the good quality and many website owners now find that their websites have totally vanished from the search results. The first major update to Google’s algorithm was the Panda update. It was intended to find and remove websites that were perceptibly using spamming tactics to rank high in search results. Now the Penguin update has wreaked disaster for many websites.
How Do Recover A Site From Google Penguin Update | Tips For Recover A Site From Google Penguin Update

Penguin hit EMD (Exact Matching Domain)

This time EMD’s [Exact Match Domain] has got hit i.e. most of the domain containing exact keywords have got penalty. Most probable reason of penalty is link building structures these websites are using. Since this website contains main keyword with their domain name, hence link building is done with same anchor text.

In 2012 Google  has got many algo updates for search engines.

We have seen over optimization or web spam algorithm update later which was named as Penguin. (Later on its update came with name Penguin 1.1).
Just before it we have seen various Panda update like Panda update 3.2, Panda update 3.3, Panda update 3.4, Panda update 3.5 & Panda update 3.6)

Private Blog Networks got banned.

Many Low quality Article sites were banned.

Many websites with exact match anchor text got penalized.

We have got Knowledge graph.

Google Places pages were replaced by Google+ Local Pages.

Basic of Google Penguin Algorithm

Penguin is an algorithm (just like Google Panda) introduced by Google to fight spammy websites for better SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) and user experience. This algorithm basically fight against spammy activities like Keyword stuffing, Cloaking and link SPAM. And, encourages webmasters to follow the Google’s quality guidelines .

Google will continue to update the Penguin algorithm version, every few months, to continue the fight against SPAM.

How to Know – You are Hit by Penguin

The simplest yet proven method is – Open your Google Analytics and  “ monitor your organic visitors from Google ”.
If the number of visitors dropped at least 33% just after an update, then you are most probably hit by the Penguin. You should also consider about Google Dance, before the final decision.

In precision, there are many websites that should have been removed. The websites that were hardest hit are the ones that use spam and other technique to try to get a better search position. Not all sites exaggerated by Penguin engaged in spam. In fact, one of the main reasons to get hit by Google is using bad linking practices. So how can people recover from the latest Google shakeup? Let’s look at some strategies for recovery.

Most websites are not so much guilty of spamming their links to thousands of websites, as they are of indulging in bad linking practices. If you have used link networks, used sponsored WordPress themes, or reciprocal linking that is of poor quality, your website may have been hit by the Penguin update. According to Google’s Matt Cutts, “It is possible to clean things up.” If your site has been hit by Penguin (you will know this because your traffic has dropped since the April 24 Penguin update), there are quite a few things you can do to bring your website back up in the search results.

Tips For Recover A Site From Google Penguin Update

1. Remove any on-page spam on your website. Examples of on-page spam include due to excess of keywords, such as buy or used cars, in order to rank better in search results. Poor quality and spun content that is stuffed with keywords, but offers the visitor no value otherwise, should be removed and replaced with high quality content that is relevant to the website.

2. If you know that you have bad links, clean them up as best you can. Simply enter your website URL into Google search and see what kind of links come up. Examples of links that can be removed include forum profile links. This is, of course, only possible if you have the login information so you can erase the links in the profiles.

3. There is supposed to be a further Penguin update. Website owners are advised to wait until the next update to see if their website recovers. In the meantime, stop all excessive linking practices. It may be a good idea to opt out of link networks for the time being, since these are being hit especially hard.

4. There is also news that some WordPress plugins are inserting hidden links. This may have caused a penalty. Try removing WordPress plugins to see if this makes a difference. If your website does not recover after a few months, it may be necessary to start completely from scratch with a new website. Sometimes it is best to cut your losses and start again.

5. If you feel you are innocent of spamming but have been hit anyway, there is a form that can be filled out on the Google website that allows you to explain your case.

8 Best Recovery Tips

1. Keyword stuffing: Make a site-wide audit for keyword stuffing. Check for high ranking pages, who have suffered more on SERPs.
How to do: Check for the total number of words on a particular post or page from your Admin Panel. Then, check the number of times a particular keyword repeated on that page by using the simple ‘ find ’ feature in your browser (Edit –> Find or Ctl + F). If the keyword density is more than 2%, simply restructure the article or page with the gist intact. You may consider to update the article with latest info also.

2. Cloaking: If you are practicing any Cloaking or Doorway pages, then stop it immediately.

3. Paid links: If you have purchased any type of backlinks, either from a link farm or from an individual, contact by an Email or telephone and make a request to remove the links as soon as possible.

4. Spammy outbound links: Also known as ‘ Bad Neighborhood ’. If you have given links to any spammy websites, withdraw it immediately.
Check the overall health of the site, to whom you have given the backlinks using 2 simple methods.

(a) Is the site hit by Penguin? (Compete Traffic Stats ) Not so reliable, as Compete updates site status very infrequently and show stats of only US traffic. Still you can use it for assessment.

(b) Search the site for any penalty by Google. Simply type site: Domain name in the Google search. If  no links found or only HOME page is found, then the site is definitely penalized by Google for not following the Google Webmaster Guidelines.
If you think, the site is authoritative and not hit by Penguin, you shouldn’t remove the backlink.

5. Spammy inbound links (-Ve SEO): Check your site-wide backlinks status. Sometimes spammy sites deliberately links good sites with ill intention or with a request from competitor site (paid). This is called -Ve SEO.
But, sometimes your good backlinks turn bad/spammy, because the sites giving links practice black or grey hat seo in the course of time.
Both types of links are unpaid. And, due to the unpaid nature, you have either limited or no control over it/webmasters. You can send Email requests with legal consequences to the concerned webmasters. But don’t expect a quick response or quick result.
Google never penalizes sites for Unpaid-Backlinks with -Ve SEO. In fact, Google excludes the link juice, if any, from spammy unpaid-links during Penguin updates.
So, you shouldn’t worry much about your spammy unpaid-links.

6. Avoid exact anchor text backlinks: Although you have acquired few good exact anchor text backlinks by guest blogging or  paid editorials, Google thinks this is grey hat seo under Penguin updates. Instead of exact anchor text, you should go for long tail or descriptive anchor texts.

7. Avoid directory submission with sole purpose of SEO gain: Google likes paid directory submission, like Yahoo Blog Directory . Because this is paid listing without any guarantee of inclusion of you site, Google thinks it’s transparent and not for the sole purpose of SEO gain/link juice gain.
You may consider listing your blog on few select blog directories like Technorati  for wider exposure only.

8. Unlearn SEO: It’s high time to unlearn SEO a bit to be immuned from Penguin algorithm updates. This is appropriate to newbie bloggers and SEO practitioners who are a bit aggressive while practicing SEO.
Good contents make a great blog, and great blogs make a beautiful web. So, lets make our world-wide-web more beautiful by creating great contents for web-surfers/visitors.

Now the article is open for questions about Google Penguin Updates and various Recovery Tips.

Please Post Ur Answers And question?

Electric eel kills crocodile

Can electric eel kills human?

Adults can generate just about 500v of electricity. Under the perfect situation, this has the potential to kill a human. It takes a minimum of 30v to overcome a human's natural resistance, and have enough current to kill someone (.1 Amps minimum).

Realistically the person would have to be standing holding the eel, or lying down in the water. The eel's current must pass through the heart which wouldn't be an easy task in itself.

The electric eel (Electrophorus electricus) is an electric fish, and the only species of the genus Electrophorus. It is capable of generating powerful electric shocks of up to six hundred volts, which it uses for both hunting and self-defense. It is an apex predator in its South American range. Despite its name it is not an eel but rather a knifefish.
Electric Eel Fish
Electric eels have an elongated, cylindrical body, typically growing to about 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) in length, and 20 kilograms (44 lb) in weight, making them the largest species of the gymnotiformes.

The coloration is dark gray-brown on the back and yellow or orange on the belly. Mature males have a darker color on the belly. They have no scales. The mouth is square, and positioned right at the end of the snout. The anal fin extends the length of the body to the tip of the tail. As in other ostariophysan fishes, the swim bladder has two chambers. The anterior chamber is connected to the inner ear by a series of small bones derived from neck vertebrae called the Weberian apparatus which greatly enhances their hearing capability.
The posterior chamber extends along the whole length of the body and is used in buoyancy. Electrophorus has a well-developed sense of hearing. Electric eels have a vascularized respiratory organ in their oral cavity (Albert, 2001). These fish are obligate air-breathers; rising to the surface every 10 minutes or so, the animal will gulp air before returning to the bottom. Nearly 80% of the oxygen used by the fish is taken in this way.

Despite its name, the electric eel is not closely related to true eels (Anguilliformes) but is a member of the Neotropical knifefishes (Gymnotiformes), more closely related to catfishes.

The electric eel has three abdominal pairs of organs that produce electricity: the main organ, the Hunter's organ, and the Sach's organ. These organs make up four-fifths of its body, and are what give the electric eel the ability to generate two types of electric organ discharges (EODs): low voltage and high voltage. These organs are made of electrocytes, lined up so that the current flows through them and produces an electrical charge.

When the eel locates its prey, the brain sends a signal through the nervous system to the electric cells. This opens the ion channel, allowing positively-charged sodium to flow through, reversing the charges momentarily. By causing a sudden difference in voltage, it generates a current. The electric eel generates its characteristic electrical pulse in a manner similar to a battery, in which stacked plates produce an electrical charge. In the electric eel, some 5,000 to 6,000 stacked electroplaques are capable of producing a shock at up to 500 volts and 1 ampere of current (500 watts). Such a shock could be deadly for an adult human. (Electrocution death is due to current flow; with the level of current that can be fatal in humans depending on the path that the electric current takes through the human body; human heart fibrillation (which is reversible via a heart defibrillator) can take place from currents ranging from 70 to 700 mA and higher. The Sach's organ is associated with electrolocation.

Inside the organ are many muscle-like cells, called electrocytes. Each cell can only produce 0.15 V, though working together the organ transmits a signal of about 10 V in amplitude at around 25 Hz. These signals are what is emitted by the main organ and Hunter's organ that can be emitted at rates of several hundred Hz.

The electric eel is unique among the gymnotiformes in having large electric organs capable of producing lethal discharges that allows them to stun prey.[4] There are reports of this fish producing larger voltages, but the typical output is sufficient to stun or deter virtually any other animal. Juveniles produce smaller voltages (about 100 volts). Electric eels are capable of varying the intensity of the electrical discharge, using lower discharges for "hunting" and higher intensities for stunning prey, or defending themselves. When agitated, it is capable of producing these intermittent electrical shocks over a period of at least an hour without signs of tiring.

The species is of some interest to researchers, who make use of its acetylcholinesterase and ATP.

The electric eel also possesses high-frequency-sensitive tuberous receptors patchily distributed over the body that seem useful for hunting other Gymnotiformes.

Electric eels have been widely used as a model in the study of bioelectrogenesis.

Researchers at Yale University and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), applying modern engineering design tools to one of the basic units of life, argue that artificial cells could be built that not only replicate the electrical behavior of electric eel cells but in fact improve on them. Artificial versions of the eel's electricity generating cells could be developed as a power source for medical implants and other tiny devices.

Electric eels live in fresh waters of the Amazon and Orinoco Rivers, the basins in South America, in river floodplains, swamps, creeks and coastal plains. They often live on muddy bottoms in calm water and in stagnant rivers.

Feeding ecology

Electric eels feed on invertebrates, although adult eels may also consume fish and small mammals. First-born hatchlings will even eat other eggs and embryos from later batches.[3] The juveniles will eat invertebrates such as shrimp or crab.

Reproduction
The electric eel is also known for its unusual breeding behavior. In the dry season, a male eel makes a nest from his saliva into which the female lays her eggs. As many as 3,000 young will hatch from the eggs in one nest. Male electric eels are also much smaller than the female electric eels.

Recovery Tips for Google Penguin Updates

I have collected some tips here.

1. Avoid hidden text or hidden links.

2. Don’t use cloaking or sneaky redirects.
3. Don’t send automated queries to Google.
4. Don’t load pages with irrelevant keywords.
5. Don’t create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.
6. Don’t create pages with malicious behavior, such as phishing or installing viruses, trojans, or other badware.
7. Avoid “doorway” pages created just for search engines, or other “cookie cutter” approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content.

8. If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.

One of the Point which is not clear to me:
Don’t use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.
Answer:
Normally many SEO's use rank checker or different types of software to check rankings, so will checking ranking via software will affect rankings ?

MY suggestions:
To build links natural way, to build via quality content rather than sticking to the actual keywords. Its hard but that's the only option as of now. What i also feel is that google considers fresh pages, fresh content, fresh links, old quality based links which has content related to your subject.

Latest Google Algorithm: Penguin Algorithm Update

PENGUIN UPDATE! Latest GOOGLE ALGORITHM Update as on APRIL 2012 24 Update

There has been widespread reports about the latest algorithm called "webspam update" which is now said to be called as the PENGUIN UPDATE.

I have found that many say this algo is a total failure as webspam update was released to fight webspam and spam sites to reduce rankings for such sites. But in the process many legitimate sites rankings have gone down or have vanised from the top 100 lists.

Other updates that had taken place in April:
April 19 - PANDA UPDATE 3.5
Domain Classifier update - MISTAKEN Update by google which google then clarified
Webspam update: Penguin Update : APRIL 24, 2012

Google's spam update has done much damage to legitimate sites than spam sites. I have also discovered that ecommerce sites are less hit by the udpate than the service sector sites.

Google Algo Penguin Updates Questions ?

  1. Is off page more important  than on page ?
  2. Is backlinks from social bookmarking sites like folkd.com will be devalued?  As many social sites have lost traffic during this update.
  3. Is Blog commenting termed as spam ?  Does blog commenting from legitimate sites is also spam?
  4. Is Forum signature links completely dead
  5. If a website doesn't do SEO then also will a site rank ?  ( Becz as per matt cutts he says that even if one doesn't do SEO then also its better)

As per updates have found
Google is behind wordpress themes links in the footer sections

More updates to be followed.   Send me your reactions to latest update - What you think about the current updates and issues faced?
