Panda Update 3, May 10, 2011 (no change given; confirmed, not announced)

Google Says It’s Panda Update 2.1, Not Panda 3.0,

Panda 2.1: Google won’t release the percentage of queries impacted but says this is far less than in the other updates. Changes were made in the past few days.

It’s important to remember that Google is always making changes to its search algorithm. Panda was a big algorithm change, but it’s not likely that Google will make similar huge change for months.

Google Panda Update 4, Google Panda 2.2 UpdateJune 16, 2011 (no change given; confirmed, not announced)

Google has given us confirmation that they have run an update to the Panda filter recently.
We have been expecting the Google Panda 2.2 update based on news coming out of the SMX Advanced conference. Matt Cutts told SMX attendees that Panda 2.2 has been approved, hasn’t been rolled out yet, but that should happen soon.

The update hit sometime late last week. I believe Google manually pushed out the Panda 2.2 update around June 16th.

Panda Update 5, July 23, 2011 (no change given; confirmed, not announced)

Google Panda 2.3 Update Is Live July 23, 2011

The 2.1 to 2.3 dates are approximate. Google may have rolled them out just a bit earlier or later than those exact days. The bigger issue is that you can see a trend developing. About every month, Google reruns its Panda algorithm.

Each time Panda is run, there’s a chance some hit from the last update will improve, while other sites might see traffic drops. In between updates, changes people may make specifically in hopes of fixing a Panda problem won’t show any impact until the next update is run.

Panda Update 6, Aug. 12, 2011 (6-9% of queries in many non-English languages; announced)

Google Panda Update 2.4: Panda Goes International, In Most Languages

Google has just announced that their “Panda” rankings changes, first launched in the United States in late February and rolled out to English language indices internationally in April, have now launched internationally in all languages other than Chinese, Japanese, and Korean
.
Their post notes that for non-English indices, this change impacts 6-9% of queries (vs. the 12% the original US English launch). This launch also includes a few minor changes to the English version of Panda, but shouldn’t have a substantial impact.

Confirmed: Google Panda 2.5 Update Arrived This Week

Google has confirmed that the latest iteration of its Panda algorithm update is live. Based on our tracking of the algorithm changes, this is Panda Update 2.5.

Google declined to share any specifics about what types of sites, pages or content this update targeted, instead only sharing the company’s default statement:
